Product Description

Product Description

Isophane Protamine Human Insulin (NPH Insulin) is an intermediate-acting human insulin formulation. It is prepared by combining regular human insulin with protamine sulfate, forming a suspended crystalline complex. After subcutaneous injection, it is absorbed slowly and steadily, providing basal insulin coverage with a delayed onset and prolonged duration of action. It is widely used to maintain fasting and between-meal blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.

Indications

  • Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus insufficiently controlled by diet, oral antidiabetic drugs
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Perioperative blood glucose management in diabetic patients

Administration

  • Do not inject intravenously or intramuscularly
  • Roll gently before use to resuspend the cloudy suspension evenly
  • Dosage and injection frequency are individualized as per doctor’s instruction
