Product Description
5% Glucose Injection is a sterile, isotonic aqueous dextrose solution. It supplies physiological energy, replenishes body fluid loss, maintains water and carbohydrate balance, and serves as a universal diluent for most intravenous medicines. Isotonic property will not cause cell osmotic shrinkage or swelling, mild and safe for routine clinical infusion.
Indications
- Replenish water and energy for mild dehydration and poor oral intake
- Postoperative, febrile and debilitated patients nutritional support
- Prevention and correction of hypoglycemia
- Standard diluent for intravenous antibiotics, vitamins and other injectable drugs
- Routine maintenance fluid in general clinical treatment
Administration
- Only for intravenous drip infusion
- Not for intramuscular or subcutaneous injection
- Adjust infusion speed and volume according to patient age, cardiac and renal function
- Diabetic patients should be used with caution and blood glucose monitoring

Storage
Store sealed in cool dry place, avoid direct sunlight, high temperature and freezing. Do not use if solution is cloudy, precipitated or packaging damaged.
Warnings
- Use cautiously in diabetes mellitus, heart failure and renal insufficiency patients.
- Avoid excessive rapid infusion to prevent circulatory overload.
- Monitor blood glucose level during prolonged infusion.
- Keep out of reach of children.
