Kanamycin 5mg(0.5%).

The preparation are antibacterial eye drops.
The drug is used for the local therapy of bacterial infections of the lid, conjunctiva and cornea caused by germs sensitive to kanamycin, for wounds in the outer eye, chemical burns and injuries and after surgical interventions.
Dosage of Kanamycin POS Eye Drop
Always use the Kanamycin POS Eye Drop exactly as your doctor has told you. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac several times a day (every 2 to 3 hours during the day).
The exact duration of treatment is determined by your doctor, who checks the effectiveness at intervals, depending on the severity of the clinical picture, and decides whether to continue the application or change the therapy.
The infection usually clears up after 5-7 days. The treatment should then be continued for an additional 2-3 days. The duration of use may only exceed 14 days in justified cases.
Please talk to your doctor if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.
If you use more than you should
no special measures are required. A short-term overdose of the drug does not lead to any known side effects. Should e.g. B. a child drinks the solution, there is no risk of poisoning.
If you forgot the application
Kanamycin POS Eye Drop do not use the double dose, but catch up on the application as soon as possible and then continue dosing with the same amount and at the same time interval/rhythm as indicated above or prescribed by your doctor.
