Product Overview
This product is an oral antimalarial combination tablet containing Dihydroartemisinin 40mg and Piperaquine 320mg per tablet. It combines two classes of antimalarial agents: (a) a short-acting artemisinin derivative (dihydroartemisinin), and (b) a long-acting 4-aminoquinoline derivative (piperaquine). The combination of short-acting and long-acting antimalarial agents is designed to provide rapid parasite clearance while also reducing the risk of parasite resistance development. This fixed-dose combination is a recommended artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria.
